Choosing the right school for your child is a very important decision. At St Gabriel’s we want to help you with this important next step.
The choice of school for your child’s education is of great importance. Personal tours with the Principal are available at your convenience and at any time of the year, as we believe that “Every Day is an Open Day”. Meeting our students and our staff, and seeing how they engage in their learning at St Gabriel’s is the first step in determining if our school will be the school for your child and your family.
Children must turn 5 years of age before 30 April in the year they are commencing school. Enrolment applications for children to attend St Gabriel’s Primary School will be accepted the year prior to commencement. Enrolments will open between March and May of the year prior to commencement. Following the lodgement of an application form the Principal will meet with all students and families in the June of the year prior to commencement.
The Application consists of:
- Enrolment Form
- Birth Certificate
- Immunisation Schedule
- Visa information (where applicable)
- Baptism Certificate (where applicable)
Applications for Foundation enrolment are accepted by the School Office for consideration by the Principal. Enrolments for all other year levels are accepted throughout the year, subject to vacancies. Consideration will be given to all enrolments.
Official Open Days are also held annually to share information about the school and provide families with a school tour, however you are welcome at any time.
Commencing in November each year, new Prep students undertake the Prep Transition Program.
The transition program is made up of four morning sessions 9.15am – 10.30am. All children commencing Prep join the prep teachers and participate in activities that assist with transitioning to school.
As part of the Prep transition process, Prep students are assigned a Buddy. This is a senior student who will help support the Prep students during their first year at school.
